Pages for Imposition Menu

This menu is not available in Auto mode.

The options of this menu affect active group of pages for imposition (last selected).

The first menu of this item displays/hides the active Pages for Imposition Palette.

The next item is preview size – there are 3 window sizes to choose from (these previews are informatory only, the preview is not rendered to show the actual size and toes not respect ratios and page sizes) and 2 sizes of the page contents (these windows are always square). The next item contains options for page selection which can be used instead of clicking the pages on the palette (it is possible to select all pages, cancel selection, invert selection, select the first and the last, first two and last two to select the first or second half of pages or every other page). The item Mark for imposition serves a similar purpose but is used to mark pages for imposition (the options are similar to the previous item).

The following items for Automatic rotation are useful if all pages in the source PDF or images are not oriented the same way. They unify orientation of all pages either according to dimensions or according to the first page, to portrait or to landscape. Page orientation is determined based on dimensions, not for example according to text orientation as one might expect. Enabling this feature indicates [R] after menu item.

The item Set this page as a back side allows you to select a page for the feature Uniform back side. When pages are selected they can be deleted using the next item – they will be deleted from the imposition and from the overview of pages and the remaining pages will be re-numbered. It is also possible to duplicate selected pages and insert a blank page, load a PDF or image into pages for imposition. The Reverse pages order option allows you to reverse the order of all pages (if no page is selected) or selected pages. You can also open selected page (from source PDF) in Acrobat in this menu.

The next item is a New group of pages – It will creates a new group represented by a palette identical to the active one with the only difference being the fact that it has a new letter assigned. This group can be filled with new pages from a new PDF source (or images) or pages moved from another group (by selecting them and dragging them to the new palette). Groups of pages can also be re-named or deleted (unless it is the only group in the imposition – at least one group must always be present).

The following items are Repeat selected pages and Scale of selected pages. Selecting 'Not set' enables settings from the Page Repetition and Scale palettes. The last item is Rotate selected pages. It rotates pages before they are placed to a sheet (and therefore before rotating them again if a rotation is set for a position – in this case the setting is not superior to other settings and rotations are added together). If a rotation is set the new top of the page is considered the upper part of the page after this rotation, not the top in the source PDF or image. It is recommended to enable previews to use this function, which is primarily intended to be used for page rotation correction for pages that are oriented in the wrong way in the source PDF or variously oriented images and therefore it changes the top of the page.

Last items reset pages changes of selected pages or all pages (if nothing is selected).
